How Much Does a Custom Suit Cost in Vancouver?

The straight answer, and what sets the price.

Every suit starts from a blank sheet: a pattern drafted for one person.

It's the first question most people ask us, usually before they've touched a single cloth. So here's the straight answer.

The prices
Custom suitStraight-finishfrom $1,575
Custom suitFull Bespokefrom $3,150
Tuxedofrom $1,725
Dinner jacketfrom $1,425
The cloth you choose sets the final price.

Where you land above those numbers comes down to one thing more than anything else: the cloth.

What you're paying for

Every suit we make starts from a blank sheet. We take 40+ measurements, and our two master tailors in Hong Kong draft a pattern for you alone. That pattern is stored under your name, so your next suit starts from one that already fits.

That part doesn't change with the price. The cloth does.

Why the cloth moves the price

We carry more than 5,000 cloths from mills in Italy and Britain. A hard-wearing worsted from Vitale Barberis Canonico sits near the starting price. Cloths from Holland & Sherry and Dormeuil cost more. At the top are the finest wools, cashmere blends and rare weaves, from mills like Loro Piana.

You'll see and feel every option in the showroom before you choose, with the price in front of you. No surprises at the end.

Straight-finish or Full Bespoke?

Straight-finish is where most of our clients start. Your pattern is drafted from scratch, the suit is made, and we fit it on you until it's right. From $1,575, in about 6 to 8 weeks.

Full Bespoke adds a basted fitting: the suit is loosely tacked together and shaped on your body before it's finished. It suits anyone who wants every line adjusted by eye, or a build that benefits from the extra fitting. From $3,150, in about 10 to 12 weeks. See how each one works.

How it compares

Off-the-rack suits in Vancouver run from a few hundred dollars to well over a thousand for designer labels. They're cut for an average body and altered to get close.

Factory made-to-measure, from online brands and some shops, usually costs less than ours. Those suits start from a standard block pattern that gets adjusted, so they can only move so far from it.

Traditional bespoke, sewn by hand in-house from start to finish, costs a good deal more and takes months longer.

We sit in between: a pattern drafted for you from scratch, fittings in person, at a price most people can plan for.

How far ahead to order

For a wedding, come in 10 to 12 weeks before the day. Six weeks is the minimum. If you're tighter than that, call us. Rush orders take 4 to 5 weeks. More on wedding suits.

For work, there's no deadline. Start with one suit and build from there.

Questions we hear a lot

Is a custom suit worth it over a good off-the-rack suit?

If off-the-rack fits you well with small alterations, maybe not. If you've always had to compromise on the shoulders, the sleeves or the trousers, a pattern drafted for you is the difference you'll feel every time you wear it.

Are adjustments included?

Yes. Any adjustments within a month of delivery are free.

What about the groomsmen?

Wedding parties get a custom package. Tell us how many when you book.
